In high-tech manufacturing today, most factories cannot respond to events in real time. When a disturbance hits a production line, root-cause analysis often takes one to two hours, and by then downtime has compounded, throughput has slipped, and the same issue may already be surfacing at another global site.Â
The industry has tried to close this gap. LS Thira-UTech’s customers, like most high-tech manufacturers, had already invested heavily in data lakes, digital twins, and AI chatbots reading from the lake, following the standard hyperscaler and consultancy playbook. The architecture could not deliver what the factory floor actually needs. Data arrived too late to act on, cloud round-trips added latency and cost the fab could not absorb, correlations across structured and unstructured sources stayed hidden, and AI overlays built on top of the lake were guessing from incomplete pictures.Â
