If you’re reading this, you probably already know that Vantiq is the fastest, easiest, and best way to design, develop, test, deploy and operate genuinely distributed, genuinely real-time solutions that incorporate everything from the largest cloud to the most trivial sensor.
But overachievers that we are, we just have to keep making it better for our partners and customers. The new Fall 2022 Release is no exception, bringing a collection of new features that will make apps built on the platform even more reliable and capable.
For instance, one of the beauties of Vantiq-based apps is that they’re deployed with in-memory state, avoiding centralized databases and placing information in-memory for real-time analytics and information aggregation. Now in the new Release, this state is automatically replicated wherever and however necessary to ensure that memory-based state won’t be lost if, for example, a cluster member is restarted. And best of all, the platform handles all the complex logic behind this – the developer simply flips a switch.
In other cases, sometimes reliability relates to how an app interacts with other systems. For example, event streams from other systems don’t always run at a steady state, and previously developers had to take this into account, adding complex logic to their applications. But in the new release, the system will automatically “smooth” burst/batch events and replay them later – and when necessary, even automatically apply back pressure, temporarily pausing delivery of events from certain event brokers.
Perhaps most important, deeply complex systems are, by definition, so complex that they inevitably at some point require timely human interaction. To that end, the new release introduces a cutting-edge unified App Builder, which merges multiple tools to create a single, powerful low-code tool with which to quickly and easily construct distributed, event-driven applications that optimize human-machine collaboration.
There’s a whole host of other improvements as well, including introduction of catalogs and assemblies, extended enterprise connectors, and enhancements to increase developer productivity.
